Nothing here is made in advance.
Each MA piece is woven after you order it — by hand, by a named artisan, in small numbers.
We make nothing ahead, and we don't rush the weave. A bag takes the time it takes: made by hand, from scratch, in a protected corner of the Amazon.
After you order
Your order reaches the atelier, and your piece begins.
The fiber — wild Amazonian chambira, gathered by hand without felling a tree — moves through the whole process: spun, dyed with natural colour, woven on wooden needles by a woman we know by name.
It is finished in Lima — hardware, leather, the last details if the bag calls for it — then sent to you by DHL, tracked to your door.
The timeline
About six weeks, start to finish. Sometimes sooner.
We keep you close the whole way — you'll hear from us when your piece is in the maker's hands, and again when it ships.
Why we work this way
The women who weave live in one of the planet's most fragile ecosystems, and a fair living from the forest is what keeps it standing — instead of the logging and mining that press in around them.
Made to order means nothing is wasted, no piece sits unsold, and every order is a maker paid.
Slowness isn't a flaw here. It's the point, shield, and heart.
The wait is part of the piece
Six weeks later, something exists that didn't before — and only one of it.
It carries the hand that made it: a weave no machine would call even, colour mixed from plants, and the name of the woman who wove it.
It won't stay exactly as it arrives. It's alive. The dyes soften, the fiber settles to the way you carry it — the piece taking your shape.
